Religions

Bloganuary writing prompt
If you could un-invent something, what would it be?

I’d remove the word from every dictionary. It would save many lives, prevent many wars, rid the world of so much hate, discontent and inadequacy. Sure we are human, and we will not prevent all hate, wars, and discontent, but even one religious war would be worth it. I like to think that faith in humanity and our capacity to do good would make the world a better place, not rid it of corruption and greed, but the excuse to accept it. We couldn’t stop murder, but we wouldn’t have a way to justify it. We could never stop fearing death, but we wouldn’t have to fear hell. We would accept the creation of all humans, black, white, man, woman or whatever else we want. We would just exist, and we would not have the support of some useless text or institution to lean on when our hate alone was not enough. Yes, I would uninvent religion.
